Mr. Thompson is active in analysis of slope stability problems both natural and constructed slopes, continuing interest in developing testing and analytical procedures for expansive soils. He's given considerable effort in local and national professional groups representing geotechnical engineers. 1995 to 2000 Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of CTL | Thompson, Inc. The Company includes CTL | Thompson, Inc. with offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, Glenwood Springs, and Ft. Collins, Colorado, Commercial Testing Laboratories in Denver and an affiliate Patton, Burke and Thompson LLC in Dallas, Texas. The combined companies provide geotechnical, materials, and geo-environmental engineering services. Extensive laboratories are maintained in Denver with routine testing available in the outlying offices. He's actively involved in analysis of soil structure interaction problems with particular emphasis on expansive soils, collapsing soils and performance of slopes.
