Deep Foundations Institute’s Educational Trust announces scholarship named after Stanley Merjan, P.E., D.GE, M.ASCE

Stanley Merjan, a Senior Consultant at Underpinning & Foundation Skanska (UFS), has been with working in the geo-profession since he graduated in 1948 from the City College of New York (CCNY) with a B.C.E. In 1953, he began as a field superintendant with UFS. Merjan recently contributed to the CCNY Civil Engineering Scholarship and because of his generous donation, it was decided to name the scholarship fund in his honor. The scholarship is intended to fund at least two undergraduate engineers to further their education in the geo-profession at CCNY. Thomas G. Krzewinski, D.GE, named president of the International Association of Cold Regions

Thomas G. Krzewinski of Golder Associates Inc. in Anchorage was selected as the new president of the International Association of Cold Regions Development Studies (IACORDS). IACORDS held its meeting during the 9th International Symposium on Cold Regions Development (ISCORD 2010),
