In addition to all his work on the Metro, he was also the Project Manager for the design of a portion of the Cumberland Gap Highway Tunnel.
Gary most recently was inducted into the Academy of Geo-Professionals as a Diplomate, Geotechnical Engineer (D.GE) in March 2011 in Dallas, Texas. He was also a member of ASCE. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
AGP receives accreditation from CESB
In its third year of operations and having more than 200 geotechnical engineers certified as Diplomates, the AGP's Diplomate, Ge
otechnical Engineering (D.GE) certification program receives accreditation status from the Council of Engineering & Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB). The CESB Accreditation guidelines state that the primary purpose of the certification program shall be the evaluation of individuals who practice in specialized areas within the fields of engineering and science and other areas related to engineering and the issuance of credentials to those individuals who demonstrate a specified level of knowledge and competence. With the D.GE program, CESB has stated that AGP meets these criteria. The Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards is an independent, voluntary membership body created for its member organizations that recognize, through specialty certification, the expertise of individuals practicing in engineering and related fields. Its creation on April 24, 1990 was the culmination of organizing work by volunteers from among the 130 attendees (23 organizations represented) who participated in the April 1988 National Conference on Engineering Specialty Certification. To find out more about CESB please click here.
